Chef’s Bio

LEFTERIS LAZAROU
Lefteris Lazarou was born in 1952 and his path in life was determined since a very early age. Lazarou was the first chef in Greece to cook a seafood menu at a fine dining restaurant and to introduce the public to less known and previously neglected types of fish. Many of his dishes became very successful and are still recognized as all time classics.
Lazarou received a great number of awards through the years. The most important recognition though, and the one that contributed to his worldwide recognition, came in the form of a Michelin star in 2002 – the first one ever awarded to a chef serving Greek cuisine. Lazarou holds his star since then.
Lefteris Lazarou has never stopped being innovative in his cooking. His imagination, his influences from his previous travels together with his accomplished technique always lead to new exciting dishes and to rich yet elegantly complex flavors.
