As we navigate the difficult challenge the coronavirus (COVID-19) presents us with during these rapidly changing times, the wellbeing of our guests and staff remains our priority.

Until recently, pandemic conditions had reached a level where countries were able to ease lockdown procedures, allowing for travel to resume to most destinations. The demanding construction of Ikos Andalusia was completed ahead of schedule and operational preparations were finalised for the September 1st opening. The result is indeed amazing, and we were eagerly waiting to welcome our guests to this outstanding new Ikos resort. We would like to invite you to a sneak preview of the astoundingly chic new property.

Over the last few weeks, however, infections in Spain have progressively spiked, reaching the highest number of daily recorded cases since May, with the upward trend leading to growing fears of an imminent second wave. Based on the current assessment of COVID-19 increased risks, the Foreign & Commonwealth Office UK (FCO) has recently advised against all non-essential travel to mainland Spain from July 26th and has stipulated that return travel is subject to a subsequent 14-day self-isolation period. Other countries have also introduced similar restrictions and travel warnings for all the country or parts of it. In light of these recent developments, we have become increasingly concerned about the prudence of an opening so late in the season and putting our guests and staff in harm’s way. Therefore, in line with the guidance from the FCO and other national Foreign Offices, and as part of our pledge to protect the health of all those involved, we have taken the difficult decision to postpone the opening of the new Ikos Andalusia from September 2020 to April 2021.

Ikos has just been awarded the title of the Best All-Inclusive Resorts in the World for another year by TripAdvisor, with Ikos Dassia in 1st place and Ikos Olivia in 2nd. We remain committed to providing our guests with premium service and travel planning flexibility during this constantly evolving situation. We have updated our policies offering a range of flexible options for rearranging your stay so that you can still go ahead with your holiday this summer.

Ikos Dassia in Corfu Crowned Top All-Inclusive in The World

 Ikos Resorts is proud to be awarded multiple accolades in this year’s TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice awards, the highest honour bestowed by the internationally-acclaimed travel review website. Based on reviews and feedback gathered from millions of travellers, Ikos Resorts has been recognised as the best all-inclusive resorts and luxury hotels in the world and in Europe, for the third consecutive year.

Ikos Dassia in Corfu has been crowned number one in the ‘Top 25 All-Inclusive Resorts in the World’, in Europe and Greece whilst Ikos Olivia in Halkidiki came in second place in the same categories. With travel still at a standstill, we have been complying with lockdown restrictions and measures imposed by governments to protect all citizens during the novel coronavirus outbreak. Since early March, in alignment with all necessary restrictive measures across the globe, strict constraints on construction works were imposed across Spain, bringing all such work to a halt, without exceptions.

Until this measure, the construction of Ikos Andalusia, the first Ikos Resorts property to open in Spain, was moving forward ahead of schedule, ready to open its doors early this month. For the first time in the Group’s successful history of delivering luxury resorts on time, this unprecedented force majeure situation has forced us to postpone the opening of Ikos Andalusia to September 1st 2020, provided that we are by then able to ensure the safety of our guests and staff as the pandemic hopefully subsides.

We are constantly working to ensure that we meet the latest guidance from the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) to be ready to welcome you on September 1st 2020. We are also developing, in partnership with in-house and outside expert partners, an even more exacting standard of care, cleanliness and disinfection, in order to confidently offer you a safe and comfortable stay when you do visit us.


We understand that our delayed opening may cause disappointment for those due to stay with us this summer and we invite you to arrange your new travel dates by contacting our Reservations department on  0030 2374110750 and, or via your travel agency/online travel website.

For guests who have booked directly with us and do not yet have new dates in mind, we will provide a voucher* to the value of your deposit, further increased by 20%, for use against bookings until October 2021. For any vouchers not redeemed in 18 months from the issue date, the original deposit paid will be returned at that time in full.

What’s more, our official pricelist for 2021 will not see any changes from 2020 until further notice, giving you more time to plan your new trip for next summer. Since opening in 2015, Ikos Resorts’ guiding principle has always been to care about our guests as we do for our own family. Today, more than ever, this core value guides us as we navigate the difficult challenge the coronavirus (COVID-19) presents us with, in order to best protect our guests and staff during such unprecedented times.

Our first thoughts and highest priority is always the well-being of the Ikos family, with you, our valued guest, at the centre of it. The Greek Government announced on March 14th, 2020 that all seasonal hotel openings will be postponed to May 1st, 2020 in order to combat the spread of the virus. Ikos Resorts will be complying with this measure, taking all responsible necessary action prescribed.

During these trying times, holiday plans may not be at the top of your mind, but I would like to assure you that your safety and well-being remains our foremost concern.

We will continue to monitor, assess and act on the information and guidelines available, steadfast in our commitment to provide guests, partners and employees with the utmost level of safety and care so that when you do travel, you can travel with confidence. Please rest assured that our already robust hygiene standards are even further enhanced, based on the latest COVID-19 guidance from international and local authorities.
