Through a set of unique collaborations with non-profit organisations, we are contributing towards marine and wetlands preservation, as well as environmental education and animal welfare. The sale of the Ikos Green soft toy through our markets raises money for marine protection; through a partnership with Birdlife International local partner, Ornithologiki, we are documenting the bird populations of vulnerable wetland areas close to our resorts. We are helping charity Planet Agents to expand their educational environmental programmes in local schools, while together with Halkidiki Animal Rescue, we care for stray animals and help find them a new home.
For our environmental efforts, we have been awarded with the Green Key, a worldwide eco-label awarded to hotels; the Blue Flag award certifying our beaches as the world’s cleanest; and the Gold Medal by Travelife, a leading, independent programme for sustainable hotels worldwide.
